TONY: Wireless networking uses radio frequency, or RF technology, instead of wires for the network. There are two places it can be used. One is in the office to replace the conventional wiring you’d have to put in place for a Local Area Network. The other, of course, is to allow mobile computing within the warehouse – either with hand held units, fork lift truck mounted units or, more recently, voice terminals.

BCP leads the way with Web Services
May 3rd, 2003BCP is at the forefront of Web Services development, using Progress’ new OpenEdge Web Services technology to build a Web Service for automating product and price verification for items that won’t scan at the check out due to missing or incorrect barcode information. Use of this Web Service will provide much better customer service than the usual method of shouting for a supervisor, and could prevent some expensive mistakes.
