Frozen food distributors and cash & carry owners, Dales, are investing in an Accord Distribution System from supply chain solutions specialist, Business Computer Projects Ltd (BCP), to handle all aspects of their business.
Founded in 1957, Dales is still a family controlled business, based in Liverpool and Leeds. The Liverpool business, where the Head Office, sales office, cash & carry and main cold store are located, specialises in the sale and distribution of seafoods throughout the UK. With a stock holding at any time of 2500 pallets of frozen foods, Dales are able to pallet pick mixed products in house for their customers – to the envy of many of their competitors. The Leeds branch houses the headquarters, telesales office and cold store for Dales Food Service. From here the company services restaurants, takeaways, cafes, etc, within a 100 mile radius of the city – a highly populated area of the UK. All deliveries, from both Liverpool and Leeds, utilise Dales’ own fleet of modern, purposed built refrigerated vehicles.
BCP is one of the UK’s top suppliers of specialist Supply Chain solutions to the Food and Drink Wholesale industry with key clients including Woodward Foodservice, BWG, Musgrave, Pets at Home, Pedigree Wholesale and SPAR.
Dales’ investment covers the complete Accord solution, including Purchasing, Sales Order Management, Stock Control, Telesales and Financial Accounting. It will be implemented in a series of phases during 2005, installation of the cash & carry system in Liverpool being the first phase. The company is expanding rapidly and will ultimately have a 30 user system, once Accord is installed across all sites.
Key to securing the contract was the functionality available within Accord, together with BCP’s knowledge and experience of the market sector.
