Freshfayre chooses BCP’s Voice WMS

Specialist foodservice distributor, Freshfayre Ltd, is investing in a state of the art Accord™ Voice Directed Warehouse Management System (WMS) from BCP for its central warehouse operation in Leeds. The investment will give Freshfayre all the productivity and accuracy benefits of this exciting new technology while, for BCP, the contract further consolidates its position as one of the leading suppliers of solutions to the foodservice industry.

Established over 20 years ago, Freshfayre is a rapidly growing delivered foodservice distributor offering a nationwide service from its central depot in Leeds and seven satellite depots across the country. The company specialises mainly in chilled foods and offers both van sales and a standard telesales with a delivery service to a wide range of catering establishments including schools, universities, retailers & independent café and sandwich bars

Freshfayre’s investment in new WMS technology was stimulated by the company’s rapid growth, and the recognition that Voice technology could help it to improve operations and offer the very best in customer service. The investment encompasses BCP’s full stand-alone Accord Voice activated WMS to handle all key warehouse operations, including stock taking, goods receiving, pallet movements and picking. The 12 user system will be implemented in 2007 and will integrate seamlessly to Freshfayre’s other IT systems.

BCP was chosen because of its industry expertise and reputation for delivering successful Voice solutions to other food and drink distributors. In particular, Freshfayre were impressed by Accord’s comprehensive functionality and ability to meet the sophisticated needs of a chilled food and drinks business.

Dave Dillon, Freshfayre Operations Director, explains: “BCP worked closely with us, through a series of workshops, to understand the details of our business processes and how their solution would work for us. Accord WMS outshone other offerings in terms of functionality and flexibility and we are convinced it will help us to consolidate our reputation for delivering first class customer service”.
