Pedigree Wholesale Ltd, the Nottingham based pet products wholesaler, is investing in an 88 user Accord Distribution system from supply chain solutions specialist, Business Computer Projects Ltd (BCP).
Pedigree offers a complete range of pet and aquatic products – from live fish to pet food – for the independent pet shop and specialist outlets, servicing some 1500 retailers across England and Wales through its network of five depots.
The investment in new technology encompasses the complete Accord solution including Purchasing, Sales Order Management, Telesales, Warehouse Management and Financial Accounting. The system will be implemented throughout the business in a series of stages over a period of six to eight months. Ultimately, it will be used by 88 Pedigree employees, 32 of which are dedicated warehouse operatives.
Key to securing the contract were Accord’s powerful Telesales features and fully integrated, Voice activated Warehouse Management System (WMS) which outclassed specialist stand-alone warehouse offerings in terms of functionality. The WMS will be implemented at Pedigree’s main distribution centre in Nottingham, giving the company all the productivity and accuracy advantages of this exciting new technology.
