Technical Author

We’re on the lookout for a Technical Author to create relevant documentation and supporting materials for all BCP products. The key objective being to deliver materials that both engage and meet the needs of the users of our Accord and Oporteo products

Accord is a sophisticated end-to-end Distribution ERP package for retail and wholesale supply chains.  it covers all aspects including Order to Cash, Purchase to Pay and Supply Chain.

Oporteo is a B2B ecommerce solution that fully integrates with Accord. It includes industry-specific functionality to help wholesalers survive and thrive in today’s fast-paced digital world. Oporteo PIM Accord’s Product Master Data solution to gain more control and efficiency of product data processes.

Main Responsibilities:

• Customer-facing documentation and associated content including standards, style guides and quality assurance (excluding Sales and Marketing materials)
• Customer accessible website areas – provision of content
• Regular review of documentation tools, resources, and processes with recommendations for improvements
• Determining the needs of the end-user with respect to technical documentation collaborating with relevant internal departments
• Support in the building of user assistance infrastructure, including how-to, FAQs, and Help functions.
• Understand and accurately translate technical information for consumption by both a technical and non-technical audience.

Main Duties:

• Liaison with Marketing to ensure compliance with in-house style guides.
• Liaison with relevant stakeholders e.g., Product Owners, on their documentation requirements
• Creation of customer-facing documentation and other supporting materials for BCP products.  Examples of this include (but are not limited to): Release Notes + supplements, User Guides, How To, FAQs, Program Information, Functional Overviews,
• Publication of release notes and other relevant content on a regular basis for the BCP product websites (customer areas)
• On-line help
• Publication of Set Up and Configuration information.
• Utilisation of available software tools for appropriate tasks
• Keep up to date with best practises for Technical Authors
• Maintain Technical Writer Development environment set up and installation.
• Collection of user data to determine areas of documentation that need revision and updating
• Monitor analytics on usage of online materials as well as those embedded within the product
• Stay current with emerging AI trends, technologies and ethics.
